Find the Apple ID country
Apple enforces region on gift cards more strictly than almost any other brand, and it does so at the account level. A card issued for one country will not load onto an Apple Account registered to another. Not with a workaround, not with a support call, not with a VPN.
So the first thing you do — before you look at a single platform — is get the country field out of the recipient's settings.
The currency travels with the country. Platforms list these cards as "Apple US (USD)", "Apple UK (GBP)", "Apple DE (EUR)" and so on, and both halves have to match the account.
What it costs
Better news than Amazon. Apple cards are typically sold at or very close to face value on the main crypto platforms, because Apple's reseller terms leave enough margin for the platform to cover its costs without charging you extra.
That makes the exchange rate the only variable worth checking. A platform advertising "no fees" on an Apple card and quoting you 6% over the fair crypto amount has charged you 6%. Run the division before you confirm — it takes ten seconds and it is the entire defence. Method in hidden markup.

Regional coverage is the thing to check rather than the platform's reputation. US, UK and major European Apple regions are widely stocked; smaller markets appear inconsistently. Coinsbee has the broadest country spread and CryptoRefills documents restrictions most clearly.
What the balance covers
Apple consolidated its gift cards into a single Apple Gift Card in most markets, which is genuinely convenient — the older split between iTunes credit and Apple Store credit caused endless confusion. Balance now typically covers:
- App Store purchases and in-app purchases
- iCloud+ storage plans
- Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and other subscriptions
- Books and other media
- In most markets, hardware and accessories from Apple's own online store
That breadth is what makes Apple one of the more useful cards to buy with crypto. A recipient who does not want a subscription can put the balance towards a physical product instead, which is not true of a Spotify or Netflix code.
How to redeem

Find the Apple ID country — in the settings, not from memory
On iPhone: Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. On a Mac: App Store → your name → Account Settings. Have the recipient read it out. This one field decides whether your money survives.

Buy the card in that country and that currency
Platforms list Apple cards as "Apple US (USD)", "Apple DE (EUR)" and so on. The currency is part of the region. A USD card cannot load onto a euro-denominated Apple ID.

Redeem inside the App Store or Apple Music app
On iPhone: App Store → your profile icon → Redeem Gift Card or Code. Type the domain or use the app — never follow a redeem link from an email, because Apple redemption phishing is common and effective.

Enter the code, or use the camera
Apple lets you point the camera at a physical card to read the code. For a digital code, paste it — do not retype. Apple codes are long and transcription errors are the most common rejection cause.

Check the balance in Account Settings
The Apple Account balance should appear immediately. Once it does, the code is spent and you can delete it.

Before you pay
- Apple ID country read from the settings, in writing. Not their address, not their nationality.
- Currency matching that country.
- Do not plan on a country change as a rescue — it requires a zero balance and can cost access to purchased content.
- Do not buy from a marketplace listing at a suspicious discount. Apple codes are the most commonly resold stolen codes in existence.
- Deliver the code privately, and never print it on the outside of anything.

Can I buy an Apple gift card with crypto?
Yes, on all the major platforms — Bitrefill, Coinsbee, CoinCards, CryptoRefills and others. Apple does not accept cryptocurrency at its own checkout, so the gift card is the only route. Cards are usually sold at or close to face value, which makes Apple cheaper to buy this way than Amazon.
Will a US Apple card work on a UK Apple ID?
No. Apple gift cards only credit an Apple Account whose country matches the card. There is no override, no support exception and no VPN workaround — the check is against the account country field, not against your location.
Can the recipient change their Apple ID country to use my card?
Technically yes, and it is usually a bad idea. Apple requires the account balance to be zero before a country change, and changing country can cost access to previously purchased content, subscriptions and some apps. Changing an Apple ID country to rescue a $25 card can be an expensive trade.
What can Apple gift-card balance be used for?
App Store purchases and in-app purchases, iCloud+ storage, Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, books, and in most markets purchases from Apple's own online store for hardware and accessories. The unified Apple Gift Card replaced the older separate iTunes and Apple Store cards in most regions.
Is there a difference between an Apple Gift Card and an iTunes card?

Do Apple gift cards expire?
Apple Account balance does not expire in the markets we checked. Local consumer law governs this, so verify Apple's terms for the specific country rather than assuming a global rule.
